Bedroom featuring a galaxy mural on the ceiling, a woman sleeping, and a moonlit window
A serene bedroom with a cosmic ceiling mural and a green goblin sitting on the edge of the bed while a ghost peers in from outside.

Itโ€™s the edge of night and my eyes hurt

Too much heavy looking and breathing at the world

On this chaotic day of rest and wonder and all torn asunder

I dream in comatose fits

Mind flashes of impossible places

But then there I am

Crawling around in it like an animal with flammable fingers

Half seeing the clock and its silver hands

Yawning like paradiseโ€ฆ What did I even do today?

Not muchโ€ฆ Derailed by faulty item that cost too much and was of poor quality. โ€˜Merica. โ€˜Exico. โ€˜Hina. โ€˜Angladesh. โ€˜Anada. โ€˜Araguay. โ€˜Olivia. โ€˜Zerbaijan.

The hassle of it all pisses me off.

Had coffee and a muffin with a face.

Stayed up past the midnight plantation

Moons and stars swirled like acid

Planets of bold and gold tumbled like wash

โ€œWhat you got there. Warsh?โ€ asks Karl.

Damn the tricyclics of regret: Would of, could of, should of โ€ฆ

But the past is gone yet it haunts

Like ghosts in the windows looking in

And laughing at all my misfortune.
