Sally Dibbs is bored with her life. She lives in a small California town in the desert. Her husband has lost interest in her, and her job as a corrections officer at a nearby jail has become mundane and unfulfilling. That is until new inmate Roy Essence arrives. Sally is suddenly struck by him, and a romantic relationship soon develops. But when the duo takes things too far and follow through on a perilous escape plan, both their lives take a surreal and drastic turn.
